Onni’s story

Onni’s story is accompanied by locations of many flavors

The Rauma Maritime Museum and Hovi Catering’s bite-sized tasting menu tour, Onni’s Story, tells the story of a seafarer, Onni, as he sails around Europe and all the way to Haiti, meets lovely Anni and ends up a prisoner of war in World War I Germany.

This guided tour is based on a diary, kept by the seafarer Onni, from the Maritime Museum’s collection. This tasting menu is also available with alcoholic beverages (for ages 18 and up) selected for each bite-sized treat. Onni’s Story tour will last for approximately 45 minutes and is available throughout the year. The tour must be booked at least a week before the visit.

Onni’s Story tour costs 23 € / person, for a minimum of 5 people. The cost covers the museum entrance, guided tour and the tasting menu. The guided tour with alcoholic beverages (for ages 18 and over) costs 35 € / person, for a minimum of 5 people. The cost covers the museum entrance, guided tour and the bite-sized tasting menu and drinks. If the tour is booked on a date outside the museum’s opening hours, as a separate event, there will be an extra fee of 50 € added to the price. The maximum number of people for this tour is 16.

Before planning a guided tour, it should be noted that the Maritime Museum building was built in 1900 and so has limited accessibility. The museum has staircases and doorsteps which may require assistance. The museum building does not have an elevator and there is no ramp in front of the main entrance. However, the museum staff is happy to help with issues related to accessibility.
